Welcome to Château du Bois de La Noë
an exceptional B&B at the gateway to Nantes
Located on the outskirts of Nantes, Château du Bois de La Noë is what is known as a folie. Historically these stately residences were built by the French nobility between the 14th and 19th centuries as country homes or for hosting receptions and parties. Generally constructed in isolated rural areas, they were inspired by the palaces of the Italian Renaissance aristocracy, their façades regularly adorned with colonnades.
Often gifted to demimondaines, mistresses who led an extravagant lifestyle with every luxury provided by their lovers, many of these residences were the venue for soirées of a somewhat libertine nature.
In the heart of a two-hectare estate, this former folie welcomes you to a haven of peace, only:
- 12 km from the city of Nantes (its Convention Centre, Château des Ducs de Bretagne, world-famous Machines de l’île, etc.);
- 30 km from the coast and its breathtaking beaches, and notably Pornic (port, casino, etc.);
- a short distance from the Lac de Grand-Lieu local nature reserve and its hiking or cycling trails, not to mention the magnificent viewpoints (Maison du Lac de Grand-Lieu);
- 6 km from Nantes Atlantique airport.
Château du Bois de La Noë boasts both bed-and-breakfast and gite accommodation.
The five rooms in the B&B can each accommodate two or three people (and even five or six with our two communicating rooms, ideal for families). All are equipped with private bathrooms, television, and free Wi-Fi.
With their very different décors, your choice of room will depend on your personal tastes and the purpose of your stay (business, leisure, etc.).
